About Us

The ALCO Baking story began with a conversation among friends about the art, science, and craft of artisanal bread. That conversation sparked a curiosity that grew into a hobby, a hobby that grew into a passion, and then a passion that grew into a pursuit. I wanted to make delicious bread everyday (or at that point…as often as I could with a demanding corporate career & a growing family).  

As my interest in sourdough & naturally leavened bread grew, I began to dream about a passion pivot to the craft of baking. In 2024, I launched ALCO Baking to bring nutritious, gut-friendly bread to my community & make this dream a reality.

Our Bread

Naturally leavened bread starts with flour, water, salt, & wild yeast (i.e. sourdough starter), but it ends with something extraordinary, beautiful, and deeply satisfying. The process is ‘alchemy’ in the truest sense of the word, and after observing this transformation time and time again, the name ‘ALCO’ stuck. 

ALCO Baking’s mission is simple: Bring fresh, nutritious, & clean artisanal bread and baked goods to our community’s table.
